The Intersectional Environmentalist

A study guide of Leah Thomas’ book ‘The Intersectional Environmentalist.’

This study guide was written by Gari De Ramos and edited by Olivia Jobe and August Devore Welles.

In this five-chapter book, intersectional environmentalist Leah Thomas unpacks what intersectional environmentalism is, where it comes from, what environmental injustice is, and how environmental injustice impacts different communities. For the purposes of this guide, we have broken down our summary chapter-by-chapter. We strongly encourage readers to see this guide as an introduction to the subject, but not as a replacement for Thomas’ book.
